Jo-Anna's Review:

I got asked to read this book for an honest review so here it goes:

I was given the blurb for this book and asked if I would read it and review it by a friend. I got through the first couple of sentences and emailed her back and told her I didn't need to read anymore, send me the book! The blurb draws you in even before you finish it and I was excited to read.

The prologue of this book was captivating and pulled me in as a reader. I was instantly hooked.

The book takes place in Hungary and is mostly written from a psychopath's POV. What he went through as a child and want he's still going through and how he takes advantage of social media.

The bad guy's POV is disturbing, grotesque and down right insane but let me tell you, as a reader? I loved it! It's hard to read. It's dark, sick but draws you in. His parts are written in first person and I enjoyed that because I find that it helps you get deeper into his head. Although his parts were difficult to get through, I found myself pulled in by him and I'm assuming that that is the point.

I for one, like dark reads. Books that tug at your mind and heart. Books that grip your soul and make you question whether it's right or not to fall in love with a character you know you should hate but really can't. That's this book. The bad guy was disturbingly beautiful.

Now this book won't be for most people. It's definitely not for the faint of heart but if you love a raw, nitty gritty read, read this book! But be warned, it will take your breath away. It'll make you question why you're drawn to the bad guy.

Throughout this whole book, I found myself reading the other character's parts really quickly just so I could get to the bad guy's POV.

Great job Levente and I can't wait to read the next installment! Here's hoping it's published in English soon!!

Author Information:

Fulfill yourself! This could easily be the popular Hungarian writer, Levente Lakatos’s life motto. The twenty-seven-year-old author has been mesmerized by the magic of books and the literary world since his childhood but it wasn’t until his adult years that he finally put pen to paper and wrote his first novel. He spent his years studying to be an actor, working as a journalist and later becoming known as a television presenter before he fell in love with the art of storytelling. He self-published his first novel five years ago and it turned out to be the start of a whole new era in his life. After seeing Levente’s success and readers’ reactions, he was offered a contract with Ulpius-ház, Hungary’s largest publishing house. Over the past couple of years Levente has become one of Hungary’s youngest and most successful writers, whose book signings attract large audiences and have always been popular with local readers. His Facebook page boasts more than twenty thousand fans and he has nearly five thousand Twitter followers.

Apart from being a perfectionist and actively interacting with his fans, Levente keeps a close watch on the book production process from the very early stages right until his books hit the shelves. Whether it’s the cover design, marketing campaign or media relations, he is always present, which might be the reason why he managed to achieve such popularity. He’s been referred to as the Hungarian Bret Easton Ellis; his style has been compared to that of Quentin Tarantino and critics found his latest erotic thriller more exciting than Fifty Shades of Grey. Levente is now ready to take global audiences by storm and introduce you to the New Adult thriller genre.

About The Author:

I'm a new self-published author who just got introduced to the writing world early 2013. My aunt suggested that I write a story because I'm an avid reader but I waved it off and left it alone. Well this year, a story came to me and I went with it. It took me a little bit but I finally got a story idea that worked and now I can't stop or control the characters/stories that keep popping up in my head.

I'm born and raised in Canada and I live with my very wonderful and supportive husband, Michael. We don't have any children (yet) unless you count our two cats. He's been my rock through this whole new experience for me. I couldn't have done it without him and my friends and family.

One of the many things I love about this new chapter in my life is that I'm learning constantly. It's never a dull moment and as long as one person likes my story, I am happy.

Angie J's Review:

I received this ARC book from the author for an honest review.

HOLY HELL!!!  I mean I  thought book 1 was awesome but book 2 kicked its ass!!  Ok yes It was awesome because Garrith is in it more then book 1 (THUD) but really the book was awesome.

So this book takes place 2 years after Sebastian has been killed.  Tori and Brett are kinnnnda dating but Tori isnt really feeling it.  She also feels like she is being watched but doesn't really "see" anyone.  Well guess who reappears?  YUP CREEEEPY bad guy Jose.  He leaves a note in Tori's sons room....oh wait....you didn't know?  Yup Tori is now Sebastian's baby mama.....a little cutie named Antonio.  Ok so back to the review....So Jose is mad that the baby isn't his...remember the whole "He is bat shit crazy" part from book 1?  Anywho, this forces Sebastian to come out of hiding.  He had been watching Tori allll this time trying to keep Jose away....epic fail Sebastian!!!!  Annnnd Sebastian is NOt a happy alpha male when he see's Tori and Brett together.  Well needless to say Tori and Sebastian end up making up (wink wink) and trying to make their relationship a go.  Brett is none to thrilled about the fact Tori chose his rival but the heart wants what the heart wants Brett............Besides I am sure Jo-Anna has a plan for you ;)

Well Cray Cray Jose isn't happy his Cochina is shacking up with Sebastian.  In this book, we do learn alot about the relationship that Jose and Sebastian have.  We see Sebastian really softening and owning his emotions in regard to Tori.  He finally is able to admit his feelings even though he knows he is allll wrong for Tori.  I also loved how strong Tori became in this novel.  She wasn't afraid to say what she felt even though at times Sebastian didn't want to answer her.  She is a very confident woman but still scared at the same time.

The BIG drama of the book was insane...Jose was obviously involved.....I don't want to tell because it was a pretty heart wrenching part of the story but I will say what he does causes bad things for my book boyfriend Garrith and his love Keisha.  I can't wait to read more from this series.  Hi 5 Jo-Jo!!

CHAPTER ONE

She walks into Yogurtland with her cell phone pressed to her ear and a scowl on her face. Behind the scowl, her vulnerability shines like a fucking nuclear explosion in a dark closet. Whoever she’s talking to has stripped her bare. I find myself wishing it were me who affected her that way. She’s digging inside her purse while balancing the phone between her shoulder and her ear; probably searching for money to get her frozen yogurt fix. What is it about frozen yogurt that makes us feel better? Maybe it reminds us of being kids, and how something as simple as a trip to the yogurt shop could turn a bad day into a great one. Whatever it is, I can see that she desperately needs some frozen yogurt. But with each passing moment that she’s unable to locate her money, I see the hope draining from her face. “I told you to stop calling me. I don’t care if your car is in the shop. I’m not picking you up!” She drops her purse and cell phone onto the checkered tile floor and curses loudly. “What the fuck are you staring at?!” she barks at the man who’s ogling her ass while ushering his small child out of the shop. “You’ve never seen a girl in a skirt bend over?” She falls to her knees as she reaches for the cell phone first. She presses it to her ear and says hello a few times before she realizes there’s no one there. I walk over to her, coolly taking my time, then I kneel next to her and reach for the lipstick tube that rolled behind her left foot. I hold it out in front of her. She looks sideways at me and her mouth drops as she’s stunned into silence. Most girls are stunned when they see me. I’m used to that. But Senia has seen me plenty of times. She’s not amazed by my good looks. She’s stupefied by my impeccable timing. Her gaze immediately falls to my lips, which are just inches from her own. Then she begins to sob as she throws her arms around my neck. I can’t help but chuckle. “Hey, it’s okay,” I whisper into her ear as I breathe in her scent. She smells like strawberries or pineapple. Something fruity. It’s intoxicating. I reach up and grab her face to pull her away, so I can look her in the eye. “What flavor do you want?” A tear rolls down her face and I wipe it away as she stares at me, still dumbfounded. “Cheesecake, with strawberries.” “Perfect.” I help her gather the rest of her belongings into her purse then I order her yogurt as she watches me from where she stands next to the trash bin. She watches me as I approach her with her bowl of frozen yogurt, one of her perfect eyebrows cocked skeptically. “Don’t look at me like that,” I say as I pass her the bowl of yogurt. “Why?” she says as she pops the first spoon of creamy yogurt into her mouth. She licks the spoon clean and I find myself wondering what it would feel like to have those full, red lips wrapped around my cock. I lean in and whisper in her ear, “Because you’re turning me on and I can’t fuck you in Yogurtland.” She continues to cock her eyebrow as she takes another spoonful of yogurt into her mouth. “Then maybe we should get the fuck out of Yogurtland.”
*****
In the three years I’ve known Senia, we’ve almost fucked three times. The first time happened the day I met her, after a show we played in Durham. We were interrupted backstage by Xander, the band’s manager, just as Senia was about to get on her knees. The second time was at a Memorial Day picnic. We were both pretty shitfaced and she ended up tossing her cookies all over me as I was sliding her panties off. The third time happened less than three months ago, in a pub restroom stall. She started crying and couldn’t go through with it; she was too heartbroken over her ex. I think the fourth time may be the charm for us. For some reason, this makes me really fucking nervous. I’m not afraid I won’t be able to satisfy her. There’s no doubt I’ll make her come harder than she’s ever come before. But for the first time in my life, I’m afraid of what will come after the sex. Senia is Claire’s best friend. Even if Claire and Chris never get back together, I know she’ll always be around. Chris is my best friend. I can’t avoid Claire and, therefore, I can’t avoid Senia. Something about this terrifies me and intrigues me; like I’m flirting with danger or, more accurately, fucking with danger. I grab the door handle on the passenger side of my silver Audi and pause as I look her in the eye and pull the door open. “Get in.” She smiles and shakes her head as she slinks into the passenger seat. “Please don’t bother using your manners.” “I won’t.” I slam the door shut and walk around to the driver’s side, tapping the trunk as I note my surroundings. It’s eight in the evening. There are only three other cars in the parking lot and at least one of those belongs to the guy working behind the counter in Yogurtland. I look up at the lamppost in front of the car illuminating the hood and shining through the windshield. I open the door and slide into the driver’s seat. Gazing into her eyes, for a moment I’m reminded of the last time my mom took me to get ice cream, when I was nine years old. I clench my jaw against the visceral nature of this memory and Senia takes this as an invitation. She climbs into my lap and takes my face in her hands as she crushes her lips to mine. I thread my fingers into her hair and roughly grab a fistful of her dark locks. She whimpers as I thrust my tongue into her mouth and squeeze my fist around her hair, intermittently tightening my grip then easing up. Finally, I pull her head back by her hair and her eyes widen with shock and excitement. That’s when I notice her styrofoam bowl of yogurt upended between us, the cold stickiness seeping through both of our shirts. She smiles as she swipes her finger through the cool, sticky substance and slowly eases her finger in her mouth. “Creamy,” she purrs. “Fuck,” I whisper as my dick jumps, trying to escape my jeans. I grab the bowl and toss it into the backseat and she smiles as I swipe my finger through the yogurt and reach under her skirt. Her thighs are smooth and warm against the back of my fingers as I move straight for her panties. She holds my gaze as I slip my fingers under the fabric and find her clit. She swallows hard as her smile melts into a look of pure ecstasy. “Oh, my God,” she breathes as I stroke her gently. I grab the back of her neck and pull her mouth against mine, swallowing her moans as if they were the air keeping me alive. I shove two fingers inside her and she gasps as I curve my fingers to reach her spot. Her body curls into me as I lick the soft skin below her earlobe. Abruptly, I remove my hand from her panties. Her face is incredulous as I lift her up by her waist and place her on the passenger seat. “Get in the back.” For a moment, it seems as if she’s questioning this abrupt request. “This better be good,” she says as she slithers between the two front seats to get into the backseat. I reach under her skirt as she crawls into the back and I yank down on her panties. “Jesus Christ, Tristan!” “Make up your mind,” I say as I place my hand on her ass and push her into the backseat. “Am I Jesus Christ or Tristan?” She laughs as I scramble into the backseat after her, holding onto her panties so she’s forced to leave them behind. I quickly position myself between her legs as she lies on her back and smiles. “You can be whoever the fuck you want.” I slide my arm under her waist and lift her up so I can place her back against the passenger side window. Pushing her skirt up, I spread her legs wide open and marvel at the sight of her. She perfectly shaved with a small landing strip of dark hair that ends at the top of her slit. “I prefer Tristan,” I say as I flash her my crowd smile. She whimpers like a kitten in pain, her hips writhing against me as I devour her slowly and methodically. She tastes like the frozen yogurt I smeared all over her. “Oh, Tristan,” she moans and I hook my arms tightly around her thighs to steady her as her legs begins to tremble. “Oh, my fucking God!” I suck gently as her clit pulsates against my tongue. She lets out a loud cry that sounds like a sigh mixed with a scream. I can’t help but smile as I continue to stimulate her until she grabs chunks of my hair and yanks me up. “Holy shit,” she breathes as she wraps her arms around my neck and pulls me on top of her. But she doesn’t kiss me. She just holds me there and I quickly begin to feel uncomfortable with this closeness. I begin to push away, but she tightens her grip. “Please don’t move,” she begs, and I can hear something strange in her voice—she’s crying. I lie still with her for a while until I no longer hear her sniffling. I slowly pull my head back to look her in the face and she quickly wipes at the moisture on her cheeks. “I’m sorry,” she whispers. I grab her hand and pull it away from her face. “It’s okay,” I murmur as I brush my thumb over her cheekbone. “No, it’s not,” she says, a hard edge to her voice as her hands reach down to undo the button and zipper on my jeans. “But it will be.” She pushes my boxers down until my dick springs free and I suck in a sharp breath as it comes in contact with her. “I don’t have a condom.” My shoulder-length hair hangs around my face as I hover over her. She reaches up and pushes my hair back as she pulls my mouth to hers. I groan as I try to resist making such a stupid mistake. Despite the rumors, I don’t have unprotected sex. I may be a whore like my mother, but I’m not as reckless as she is. I try to pull my face back, but Senia holds my head still. Suddenly, I’m royally pissed off. I rip my head out of her grasp and glare at her. “This is just a fuck. Nothing more,” I insist and her eyebrows scrunch together. A sharp pang of regret twists inside my chest. “I’m sorry.” Why the fuck am I apologizing? “Then shut up and fuck me,” she says as she tightens her legs around my hips and the tip of my cock presses against her opening. I slide in slowly, watching as she closes her eyes and tilts her head back. Leaning forward, I suck on her throat as I gradually ease myself further inside her with each stroke. “You’re tight as fuck,” I whisper as I carefully work my way deeper inside. She doesn’t respond, so I keep thrusting, slowly at first then working my way up to a steady pace. I pull my head back to see her face and her eyes are still closed. I don’t know why, but I want to see her eyes. “Look at me,” I command, and she opens her eyes instantly, her gaze finding mine. Her eyes are slightly red and that’s when I notice the tear tracks running from the corners of her eyes, down her temple, and disappearing into her dark hair. A strange urge overcomes me and I lean down and kiss her temple. Licking my lips, the saltiness of her tears turn me on even more. I ease my hand behind her knee and lift her leg higher so I can thrust deeper. She whimpers as she threads her fingers through my hair and pulls my mouth to hers. I kiss her slowly, matching the rhythm of my hips to the movement of our tongues. She bites my top lip and I feel myself getting so close to blowing my load. “Holy shit,” I whisper as I try to pull my head back, but she holds my head still and kisses me deeply as I let go inside her. My dick twitches as I fill her with my gushing warmth. I grunt into her mouth and she continues to kiss me, swallowing my cries the way I did hers. Finally, I tilt my head back and look her in the eye. Then I ask her a question I haven’t asked anyone since I broke up with Ashley four years ago. “Who was that on the phone?”

JUST JEN's REVEW

I really loved this story. Although, this story has a great romance it is truly about a man trying to come to terms with his sexuality and accept who he is. It is a story of a man living a double life, one in the confines of the hospital and the other on the outside of the hospital.  Zach is always doubting himself outside the realm of his professional life. He lacks confidence and has low self-esteem. His best friend, Declan, knows Zach is a great person but getting him to see it is hard work. Enter the hot confident Italian, Sergio. He is just what Zach wants but Sergio will not be forced to hide in Zach's closet with him. As their relationship progresses, life's tragedies force Zach to realize you can't hide forever.

There isn’t a lot of steamy sex in this book at all, but there is such a sweet romance that I found myself really not missing the heat. The characters are strongly written. What I loved was the fact that I have read several stories where the character is in the medical field and because the author truly lacks knowledge of that profession the story falls short. That was not the case in this book. Jake Wells does an amazing job creating the life of a pediatric resident. There were so many times during this story that I felt like I was in the hospital with Zach. I laughed so hard and I cried big tears while reading this book. I thoroughly enjoyed this journey of Zach. I can't wait to read what Jake Wells has for us next.

FAVORITE QUOTE
I just think this is one of the most powerful statements in this book.

"Look, Zach. The world is a complicated place. It's woven together in an intricate, confusing pattern. Sometimes it's easy to get lost in the significant details. But at the end of the day, the testimony of a person's character is their integrity and their capacity to love. Who they love really says nothing about who they are."

Jake Wells was born a dreamer. He dreamed of distant lands, of trying to make a difference in people’s lives, of falling in love, of writing a book, and of all things chocolate. Imagine how fortunate he feels to have seen most of his dreams come true. He’s adventured through the far corners of the world, has a successful career practicing medicine, and shares his life with an amazing partner. Though eating chocolate continues to play a prominent role in his dreams, the icing on the cake has been writing about falling in love in a world where equality is only beginning to be embraced.
When he’s not playing doctor, Jake can usually be found traipsing local hiking trails with his dogs near his West Coast home, in the kitchen trying to replicate some sumptuous dish he saw on one of the cooking channels, or sipping a glass of fine red wine with his friends.

Brenda's Review

I received an ARC for an honest review

This was my first Brenda Novak book that I've read.  I was pulled in right from the beginning.  You really don't even realize that it's 400 pages long.  Don't let that number scare you....you'll love it.

Sophia has had a rough lift, to say the least.  She got pregnant, at a young age, and was forced to marry the guy.....He ended up being an abusive jerk of a husband!!! No one really noticed that there was anything wrong.  They had the "perfect" life in everyone's eyes.

Then when everything comes crashing down on her, she finds her high school sweetheart.  Of course, because of all of those years of abuse from her jerk hubby, she doesn't think she deserves to be happy or could possibly make anyone happy!

Well that's all you're getting from me!!  Go try it!!  I'm going to put the rest of the series on my TBR list.

I give this 3.5 stars!
Nice read!

EXCERPT:

The closer I snuggled up to Austin, the more I craved that cozy familiarity—more than I would have cared to admit. I’d missed him. How do you not miss someone who was a huge chunk of your childhood and young-adult life who disappeared off the face of the earth? Almost every memory I had from kindergarten to age twenty involved Austin Cole.
The next thing I knew, my cheek rested on his bicep and I tucked my body against his like a puzzle piece. Just when I closed my heavy eyelids, he groaned.
Oh God, please don’t let him wake up now.
It was deep and guttural, and he shifted on his right side, facing me.
“You okay?” he murmured.
I didn’t reply. I played dead and pretended I was asleep. It seemed like a good plan to avoid the embarrassment of explaining why I was latched on to him like a man-sucking leech.
A rough, warm hand cupped my cheek and I felt him scoot down a little. Maybe he thought I had fallen asleep, because his thumb brushed over my right eyelid softly.
Five times. I counted.
When his lips lightly touched mine, my brain just shut down. It was a soft, almost nonexistent kiss, but I felt it all the way down to my toes. Then it zinged back up to my hips and damn if I didn’t moan.
Now we were both aware I wasn’t asleep and he was kissing me. But it didn’t stop. His kiss pressed a little bit harder and tingles roared through my body, and my breath was shaky and erratic.
When his tongue touched my lip, I quickly opened my mouth and kissed him back.
Hard.
Deep.
Kissed him like I’d fantasized about doing for the last seven years.

*Breath in and out*  OMG This book totally rocked my socks off......I got a cool looking bookmark at the Indie Romance Convention.  I checked it out and thought "Hey sounds cool."  I contacted the author for a review copy and was pretty excited when she agreed.  Now, i must admit, I didnt really pay close attention apparently because when Austin said he was a shifter, I jumped out of my seat.  I LOOOOVE Shifter stories.  I was so blown away away with the whole :falling in love with your brothers best friend" story line........

Ok ready to hear why I gave this awesome book 5 stars.......hhhhheeeeeerrrreeee we go....
1. Austin Cole is delicious.  Sorry but that is worth a star in my opinion.....
2. The chemistry between Lexi and Austin is AMAZEBALLS!!!  I mean WOW!!!  I was climbing the sofa and dying for the two of them to freaking KISSSSSSS let alone do anything else for crying out loud.
3. The plot twists.  There are so many but it never felt like over kill.  Each plot twist totally added to the amazing story.  I mean WOW...the mage, the daddy issue, the other alpha males in the area, Lexi's neighbor, Lexi's little sister, Lexi's brother Wes (sniff)....I mean I could soooooo go on but I wont because I dont want to ruin anything.
4.The writing was on point.  I mean it was reading and flying through the pages because everything was understandable and written so well.  I was stunned at how fast I read this story. I couldnt put it down at ALL!!  I was mad when the family wanted to be fed this weekend.  I was like "Hello warm up a burrito or something.  Lexi nnnneeeedddds me!!"
5. The fact that this booksl eaves it wide open for many many many more books.  I have to admit i will be buying or requesting the next books because I am blown away by this author.  I haven't read her other books but i guarantee you i will be righting that very very soon!!!

Melinda's Review:
My “partner in crime” and I went to Indie Romance Convention where she received a book mark advertising this book.  She received the book from the author and said it was a must read. So it was a no brainer she said it was a must read I had to read it.  WOW I’m glad I listened to her.

This is the first in the series and is one I will continue to read.  This is a great story that had me on the edge of my seat the entire time.  About the time I thought I figured out where the story was headed BOOM something was revealed or a twist was thrown in there that I never saw coming.  I love books were the female is not the weak helpless type and this did not disappoint.

Alexia’s world fell apart when her brother died in a tragic motorcycle accident, his best friend, Austin, who was more like a second son to the family left town, and not long after her baby sister, Maizy, was born her father left the three of them.  She lost all the men in her life but she brushed herself off and moved on.  Then Seven years after her brother’s death Austin showed back up in town which sent Lexi’s life on a whole new path with twist and turns.

Austin is a shifter who is starting his own pack and feels the need to include Lexi and her family in his pack, as they have always been a part of his family.   I love the way Austin’s brothers accept Alexia, her sister and her mother into their family and protect them like they are their sisters and Mom.  I loved watching the protective bond Denver has with Maizy.  The tension you feel between Lexi and Austin throughout the entire book is amazing.  The birthday gift he gets for Lexi I was letting out all kinds of sighs.  It was so sweet and shows how well he knows her.  With all the twists, turns and “roadblocks” that occurs to Lexi and Austin and they travel down this road you just never know what is going to happen next or if they will be able to be together or not.  I didn’t know what was going to happen until the last 90% of the book.  I will say it is not a cliff hanger you will know how things end at the end but there are things left open for the series to continue.

Here are some of my favorites from the book:
“Never take a ring form a boy unless he’s your prince.” ~Lexi

“I felt a connection with him that time never erases with someone you know, like when you hear a song on the radio and all those old feelings of a special time in your life come flooding back. That was Austin---he was my song.” ~Lexi

“In fact, I remember the exact moment I fell in love with you. I was June seventeenth, the summer before your senior year in high school.” ~Austin

This was a great read and I enjoyed every minute of it.  I will most defiantly be reading more books from Dannika Dark.  I really want to find out more about this pack.  I’m waiting patiently for the next book.
