Hotter Then Hot Blog Tour by Milly Silver

Hotter Than Hot

Blurb:

Maggie Lee is Space Cadet 69. She begged for a different number. But no can do. She’s stuck with a 69 on her forehead, until she’s vaporized. That pretty much sums up Maggie’s life.

Stuck in a boring job counting cans of meatballs.
Stuck on the dullest space station in the universe, Lanzarote.
And stuck with no hope of achieving her dream of flying scout ships.

Enter hot guy Hunter in his blinged-up spaceship. Things start to get unstuck for Maggie real fast.

Maggie must outwit evil Lord Zagon who wants to kill her for her cherished precognition helmet, find a rare space rock to save her family from suspended animation and flee from giddy space pirates wanting to pimp out her friends to the nearest aliens. Hunter being a sexy space god isn’t exactly helping Maggie’s concentration levels either.

Can Maggie pull it off? If she doesn’t, her family will be frozen forever and Lord Zagon will rule the universe. Then she’ll definitely never get to fly scout ships.

Maggie’s bright ideas, upbeat attitude and perseverance, together with a surrounding cast of characters help her beat all the odds.

HOTTER THAN HOT is a NA romantic comedy. It’s a story of friendship, courage and finding out who you become when pushed to your limits.

Angie J's Review:

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

So I have to admit I love Spaceballs the Movie.  It is silly and fun and who doesn't like silly and fun.  So when I was offered a part in this tour I said sure......I planned to read it after I read a gut wrenching, heart breaker of a book.  I figured PERFECT transition book out of sad and into happy.

So this story was cute and funny.  It made me chuckle a few times at the humor of the book  Maggie meets Hunter and he is trying to save her.  He grabs her and her bestie Stacey from their home planet before the evil Lord Zagon can capture them.  He wants a precog helmet that Maggie's grandpa fixed up.  He needs it to rule the galaxy.  Lord Zagon was a funny "evil" character who liked to dress up in space suits and keep alot of pets.  Pretty funny for a "bad guy".    Hunter was also a funny character.  He was a former model who was humiliated by Pirate Rob back in the day.  He is now a hired hand.  He and Pirate Rob have a fun banter back and forth because they cant stand each other but both fall in love with one of the girls.  Stacey with Pirate Rob and Hunter with Maggie.

My favorite parts were Hunter's spaceship computer who hates Maggie for having Hunters attention.  The way the computer fights with the girls is a riot.   I also cracked up at what the 4 of them (plus the alien dog/bird they rescued) does to win disks/money to buy chell's to save Maggie's planet.

Is this a book I will read again, prolly not but it was a funny, silly read for someone like me who enjoys ridiculous things.  But the funny thing is this : I am kinda curious about what adventures Stacey, Pirate Rob, Hunter and Maggie find in the next book........

Angie J's Review:

I received this book from the author for an honest review......

Ok So met Andrea when I read her G-Men series. I instantly fell in love with her writing style. She knows how to write steamy sex, alpha males, sweet heroines and lots of great plot twists and turns.

So I was really excited to read this series for our blog tour. I sat down and read the entire book on a Sunday. I ignored my kids, hubby and family that came over for a cookout!! LOL I sat and was totally mesmerized by the characters. Trey was a stuffy, ass who got what and who he wanted. Tylar is a sweet and pleasing girl who just loves horses. She wants to train and care for horses. PERIOD. She doesnt really see herself as anything but a worthless person thanks to her WONDERFUL mother. Her mother that slept with her high school boy friend. Her mother that let her get assaulted by one of her dates. Her mother that ......well I will let you discover that one yourself....... Tylar is going to walk a horse that she favors all around when Trey comes and basically tells her he is the boss and do as he says. She is humiliated and the next time she sees him is when she is in the hospital after getting drunk and getting a concussion. Well Trey and Tylar have this crazy chemistry. The begin to try to ignore it which makes them both crazy. When they finally give in to their passion, they agree to be exclusive but have an opt out clause. Trey is sooo jealous and smothering to Tylar. She cant handle his need to control her. When you learn about him you understand but still he needs to understand where she is coming from. She has raised herself and can care for herself. The couple have some bumps and bruises. Tylar seems to get mad at Trey for alot of innocent comments but Trey also gets over jealous over innocent issues with Tylar. i loved the couple and when they finally get it together, they are full steam ahead.

I loved the side plot of who is stalking Tylar. I loved seeing the back story of both of the characters. They both has baggage that stops them from fully embracing how wonderful their relationship can be. The side plot has a lot of twists and turns and all point back to one very disturbed person.....people I am talking cray cray person!!!! I really hope you read this book. Once you stop you wont be able to stop. I cant wait to start book 2......

Baby Love Lite (Baby Series Lite, #2)

Blurb:

Baby Series Lite is the anniversary edition of last summer’s Baby Series. These Lite editions have been condensed from the originals to accommodate those readers who prefer a shorter read. The essence of the story is the same, but its length has been edited and bonus chapters added on Book 2 and 3!

'Baby Love Lite' is the sequel to 'Maybe Baby Lite' and follows the twists and turns in the lives of the handsome young attorney Trey Sinclair and Tylar Preston.

The second volume in the series finds Trey and Tylar the proud parents of a child. They are in love and their relationship is blossoming, but soon Tylar discovers that her nightmarish past will continue to haunt and threaten her new found happiness with her family. She fears for the safety of her baby and the sanity of herself.

There are many surprises in store not only for Trey and Tylar; but for Gina (Ty’s friend) and Tristan (Trey’s brother) as well. Will the love and intimacy they share be enough to bond them even closer or will their pasts tear them apart?

This book is intended for mature audiences

Angie J's Review:

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Holy crap Batman.  This book had a ton of stuff happen.  My stomach was a mess. I even messaged Andrea begging for a spoiler cuz I couldn't take the drama....i needed to know what would happen!!  LOL

So this book starts our with Tylar dealing with PPD after Preston is born.  how ever maybe she is having premonitions????  She starts fearing for her babies life and guess what?  she had every reason too.  Her "wonderful" mother kidnapped Preston.  The beginning of the book is Trey and Tylar trying to find Preston.  Man. oh., man do the secrets come flying outta the closets.  You find out that mommy isnt really mommy and you find out who Tylar's daddy is!!!  Yes friend you find out alot in this novel.  Mommy tells alot of stories and Tylar is a mess to say the least.  However Trey is awesome in this book.  He is so supportive of Tylar.

Well Tristan meets a awful woman who Gina puts in her place very very very quickly which leads to some fireworks and love for Gina and ......TRISTAN!!!!  The 2 of them are a riot...fighting of sexing...that sums them up.  They do have a bit of drama and the ending chapter made my heart ache.  There is a lot of drama and you wonder who that will carry over to book 3.

Tylar and Trey decided to try for another sibling BUT Nigel and Tess (ya know Trey;s old ex fiance) ask Trey and Tristan to do something very unconventional to help him and Tess achieve a dream.....I dont know that I would have done anything different that Tylar did...snicker....

Anyway, this series is AWESOME!!!!!  i am diving into book 3 now!!

Be My Baby Lite (Baby Series Lite, #3)

blurb:
Baby Series Lite is the anniversary edition of last summer’s Baby Series. These Lite editions have been condensed from the originals to accommodate those readers who prefer a shorter read. The essence of the story is the same, but its length has been edited and bonus chapters added on Book 2 and 3!

‘Be My Baby Lite’ is the third installment in the 'Baby Series Lite'. It’s the continuation of Trey and Tylar Sinclair's poignant story of love and passion.

It has been a mostly bumpy road thus far, but they have always managed to find the strength they needed in each other… however, their relationship will soon be put to the ultimate test.

Trey and Tylar will discover that there are those who are willing to destroy the loving relationship they have by death or at the very least, infidelity. Their love and commitment to each other is put to a tragic test. Will they be able to survive the unexpected hardship that befalls them? Will the strength of their love, the depth of their commitment to each other and the ability to forgive draw them ever closer or break them apart forever?

This book is intended for mature audiences

Angie J's 5 star snot sobbing review:

So I got this book from the author for an honest review.

I have loved this series and with each book I am more and more amazed at the plot and how it is weaved throughout the novel.  Something offhand can be a major plot twister later.  I also love the dynamic of the main characters.  Tylar is sooo young and inexperienced.  Trey is no yet can be such an idiot at time.  The two really struggle in this book in the beginning half of the novel.  Trey and Tylar both has some infidelity to deal with.  This all steams from a tragedy that happens right away in the book.  I was heart broken that they have these issues....like they don't have enough other drama in their life with Tylar's biological family....gesh.

When the two finally (thanks to Tylar's dad) get their act together and figure stuff out you think...ahhhh...my nerves can calm down and i can stop eating the tums right???  WRONG>>>  *shaking my fist Dang it Andrea!!!!*    So the two have more and more drama with Tylar's family and the who killed who and who kidnapped Preston stuff.  You find another long lost distant relative and man the twists just keep you on your toes for sure.

Ok So I will say the best part of the book, Trey and Tylar reconnecting on their cruise AND the Leather Jacket Scene *snickers*...omg you gotta read it.  My saddest snot sobbing ugly cry moments, Trey in the hospital.  I cant even begin to go there with you because I am emotionally wiped out.  I mean I was crying my dang eyes out.  I looked terrible today at work I guarantee it......

I was sad to see Trey and Tylar's story come to a conclusion.  I cant wait to start on Gina's story.  i know some people dont feel that she "needs" a book but I think Gina and Tristian need to have a chance to speak.  They were major side characters and they have alot to contribute to the rest of the story.Baby Come Back Lite (Baby Series Lite, #3.5)

Blurb:
Baby Series Lite is the anniversary edition of last summer’s Baby Series. These Lite editions have been condensed from the originals to accommodate those readers who prefer a shorter read. The essence of the story is the same, but its length has been edited and bonus chapters added on Book 2 and 3!

‘Baby Come Back Lite’ is the final installment in the 'Baby Series Lite'. This novella follows Trey’s brother Tristan and Ty’s best friend Gina. It is written from Gina's point of view, providing insight into her past and secrets that she has shared with no one.

Unfortunately, events unfold which force Gina to come to terms with unresolved issues from her past that have hindered her ability to love and trust unconditionally. Tristan also has something to share with Gina as their relationship reaches a new level.

This story overlaps with ‘Baby Love Lite’ (book 2) and ‘Be My Baby Lite’ (book 3). It mainly focuses on the events of Gina and Tristan, but manages to shed light and further clarify Trey and Ty’s story, wrapping up the series about the Sinclair’s.

This book is intended for mature audiences.

Angie J's Review:

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Ok So I love Trey and Tylar, I mean who couldn't but dang it Gina and Tristan are awesome.  I think I may like/love them a SMIDGE more.....lol...don't tell Andrea though :)

So I know some people didn't feel that Gina needed a story and I totally disagreed.  She is a huge asset in books 1-3.  She has some issues to face plus she helps our main characters ALOT more then we even knew.

Tristan isnt thrilled when fe finds out his baby may not be his after all.  He does the unthinkable and calls her a slut basically which crushed out hard as nails girl Gina. She decided to go home and lick her wounds but comes back and is ready to teach Tristan about who she is and how she rolls..... Needless to say he is begging to be forgiven.  The two work out the drama Tristan had in his head thanks to his ex-Tara...wow amazing side plot there......I was glad that trey got to give Tristan a much needed butt kicking especially after all the times Tristan kicked Trey in the but about Tylar.

Well all is going well and Gina starts to give us a bit of her back story.  We see the awful life she has had and then see why she fell for Ian.  He was safe because he didnt control her in any way like........he we shall not name.....i loved seeing Tristan "save " Gina in so many ways this book.  He saved her emotionally and physically. ...sigh...Tristan!!!!

Well through the story we find out a lot about Amber (skank) and Libby (skanier) and WOW was I stunned.  I even messaged Andrea and she said "Ain't you used to my roller coaster rides, Angie?"...which made me crack up.  This book was great.  I loved the addition.  I only gave it 4.5 stars because I honestly wish there had been more to it.  I would have loved to see more of their relationship..so I guess that is me being bratty!!

i have to say I am sad that this series is over.  I really loved the characters (even the ones we hated) and this will be a goto read for me because of the hot naughty time but also the loving and caring aspects of the books.

I was born and raised in southern Ohio, and with the exception of a brief stint in Dallas, TX, have been an Ohioan most of my life. My dream has always been to write a novel, and back in the early eighties I tried to do just that, having been influenced by authors such as Kathleen Woodiwiss, Johanna Lindsey, Rosemary Rogers and Laurie McBain. I remember writing to all of them through their listed publishers, and the only response I received was from Johanna Lindsey (who lived in Hawaii at the time.
Ms. Lindsey advised me to continue with my dream; and to submit to various publishers again and again. Of course, at that time, publishing e-books yourself was not on the horizon; there were vanity publishing houses of course, but she advised me to avoid those.
So my dream was put on the back-burner for more than 25 years until June of 2012 when suddenly I no longer had a reason not to write a novel. My sons were grown; I found myself without a career (blessedly) and the creative juices flowed once again.
I finished my first novel, "Maybe Baby" in September of 2012; the next two books in the "Baby Series" titled "Baby Love" and "Be My Baby" were published in early 2013. I learned a lot in my first endeavor with self-publishing. I've made so many friends as a result that it is over-whelming.
In the spring of 2013, I had an idea for a different type of Alpha, and wrote Book #1 of the "G-Man" Series, titled "Diamond Girl." This book was well-received, and I followed it with Book #2, "Love Plus One." These are stand-alone books.
I am finally doing what I love and I sincerely appreciate the wonderful readers who provide feedback and take the time to comment. I hope that with each book, my writing has grown and improved as I strive to publish quality fiction.
Thanks!

Draw of the Bane by Amy Bol

About The Author: Amy Bol grew up in Twin Lake, MI. She met her husband, Bryan Dykes, on vacation during her second year of college and moved to Virginia Beach to help him battle Hodgekins disease. Cancer free, the couple went on to have two daughters and eventually return to Twin Lake to raise their young family in her hometown. Bryan was diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer in April 2008 and he died three short months later. Her first book, a memoir of non-fiction, short stories entitled "Complements of a Dying Man," started out as a test to learn how to upload her work onto Amazon. The book is currently rated five stars and was described as both humorous and heartfelt. However, her guilty pleasure is writing adult paranormal romance. Draw of the Bane, the first book in The Blueblood Legacy series is her first novel. She is currently at work on the sequel Rise of the Red Wolf. She lives with her fiancé, Nick, and her two stubborn, strong, and infinitely amazing young daughters. www.facebook.com/amybolwrites Email: amybolwrites@gmail.com Twitter: @amybolwrites

The Book: Mila was use to life on her own. She was done running, and fully expected to face her past alone and on her own terms. That is, until Landon wandered into her life and changed the terms. Now, together, they face a common enemy, one that neither can run from forever. For, even as her enemies exist a continent away, the draw of the Bane in her blood will bring them only a heartbeat from her. But it was the heartbeat beside her that pounded the loudest, and the one that could be her undoing… "So deep was the fine design woven into the very fabric of their blueprint, so precise and sharp were the instruments of Mother Nature, that the danger came not in the divine intention of their form, but in the commune of their unnatural numbers. Dens that size don't exist in nature for a reason. Yet, here one came…" "He was the kind of man that if you saw as a stranger in a room, you allowed yourself that one fleeting moment when you imagine you're flat on your back and pinned firmly beneath him." This is an adult book and is not recommended for young readers.

Angie J's Review:

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Paranormal. Check
Romance. Check
Great Story Line. Check

So when this author asked us to do a promo posting I was very interested in reading.  When she came back later and asked if we would like to review i jumped.  I started reading books that were mainly paranormal but have defo opened up my reading generas to real alot more but I find that paranormal are my first loves.  It can be vamps, fae, shifters, etc...I dont care I just love paranormal.  I will say there are a few books I was like "hey pretty good." or "hey glad i tried it out."  This book I was like "SA-WEET!!!  Glad i read it!!"

So this story is about Mila who is alone.  She lives by on her farm with her wolf and they basically exist.   There isn't anything fancy or exciting.  They just live off the grid kinda thing.  Well Mila is out hunting when she runs into Landon and saves him.  He was bitten trying to hunt some wolves .  He begs her to kill him but she wont.  She takes him to her house (against her wolfs better judgement) and he gets better.  The two begin to do the "love dance" while trying to fight off some bad people.  The story is written so amazingly.  The writing is done so well I was stunned at how fast I was flying through the pages.  I couldn't put it down and when I finished I was sad.  i wanted more and am glad there will be more to this great start to the series.

Vampires exist among us. They can be our neighbor, best friend, our child's teacher ...
They alter their aged appearance based upon the amount of blood they consume. They move to a new area, drink a lot of blood, and appear young. Slowly they limit their intake of blood and age, right in front of our unsuspecting eyes. After decades, they fake their death, move, and do it over and over again.
Most live quiet lives in an effort to blend in.
Some however want power and control.
The Colony is an elite group of vampires sworn to protect the President of the United States from these rogue vampires.
Sterling, a half-breed vampire who works with a covert team of vampires to protect the President of the United States, is the weakest link in the chain for his team, and he knows it. Because he was born to a human mother, he no standing in either the vampire or human worlds.
He has a unique ability to glean information from inanimate objects, and his life is like CSI meets the West Wing, where key positions are held by vampires. Vampires can alter their age based on the amount of blood they consume, which should allow Sterling to blend into human society. However, his ability has painful side effects that cause him to live a lonely life down in the evidence room at FBI headquarters. He's a lonely bad-boy looking for love in all the wrong places.
His current case involves the kidnapping of vampire children by a religious cult who is trying to save them. Sterling snatches the opportunity to do some field work by teaming up with a purebred vampire, Kate, who is the nanny of one of the missing children. Sterling's world is turned upside down by Kate. She is everything Sterling could hope for in a mate and he wonders if she'd ever consider loving a half-breed.
Kate is beautiful, intelligent, charming and sophisticated.  Kate has led a sheltered life and is considered handicapped by vampire standards. Could she possibly trust Sterling enough to share her dark personal secret with him?
Together, can they save the kidnapped children and find true love for themselves?

Sterling closed his hotel room door and took a long, deep breath before heading towards Kate’s room where he knew Kate and Ben waited for him. They needed to save the children. Duty called. He never thought too much of being a hero. All that mattered was that the people were safe, or they had had closure. Of course, most days he had sat alone in an evidence room with a headache.
Traveling around with a lovely woman was a rarity. He sighed heavily as he leaned on the closed hotel room door. It was time to be superman to everyone and everything in this whole damn world.
He turned and hit the door soundly with his fist. Luckily, the wood did not split in two. He didn’t know what the hell was going on with Kate, between the two of them, or fuck, life in general now. He needed to put all personal issues aside and focus on those missing kids. But, all he wanted was Kate. He wanted her body. He needed her like he had never needed anything else in his life.
Their kiss still lingered on his lips. He remained at the door another moment before going back to Kate’s room. He needed to keep his thoughts on their mission, but he knew that with just one look at her, that he would be tempted to be the most selfish bastard in the world. He remembered the feel of her as she lay under him. Her soft skin. Her delicious lips.
He quickly walked down the hallway to Kate’s room and found the door open, so he let himself in. Ben stood alone in the center of the room. “Where’s Kate,” Sterling asked.
“Bathroom.” Ben glanced over to Sterling. “Like I told Kate, I found the next victim. She’s only a few hours away.”
“Why do the Hands of God suspect her as a pre–trans?”
Ben’s eyes shifted away. Slightly under his breath he said, “She’s sort of related to Stephen Miller.”
Sterling spied two coffees on the dresser, and one still sitting in the cardboard container. He walked over and claimed the cup. “Related? How?”
Ben sheepishly answered. “The two are paired off for marriage after they transition.”
Sterling raised the cup to his lips and took a sip of the hot liquid. The brew tasted more bitter than normal. Of course the two were in an arranged marriage. The two were teenagers, both probably from wealthy families … they were probably paired off while still in diapers. Super easy. Incredibly convenient.
Hot coffee spilled from the cup as Sterling realized he was crushing it. He set the cup down and gave Ben a nod. “Let’s get going.” Turning towards the bathroom he shouted, “Kate.”

Q:  Sterling, can you tell me a little more about the Colony and its role for the US government?
A: There’s not much to tell. We’re a group of dedicated individuals who protect the President from rogue vampires.
Q: And, you are a vampire?
A: Duh.
Q: Okay, then. Um. How would a vampire attack on the President be different from a human one?
A: Vampires are stronger, more efficient killers. The biggest difference would be that the President probably wouldn’t see a vampire coming. Plus, he’d be drained of blood afterward.
Q: Is the President aware of the existence of vampires?
A: It’s one of the perks of being President. We try to limit our exposure to humans as much as possible so people won’t know of our existence. Our existence is on a need-to-know basis. The President, since he’s a big target, needs to know.
Q: The Colony director – can you tell us more about that person’s role?
A: He’s the human buffer between us and the presidents. Some presidents don’t like having us around, but some are more open minded. The role of this buffer changes with each administration depending upon the President’s comfort level.
Q: Has any President taken un-kindly to having vampires around?
A: Don’t even get me started. There have been several who have been scared shitless because we exist.
Q: Is the current President nervous around vampires?
A: No. He’s a great guy.
Q: I understand you work with your father.
A: Yes.
Q: He’s the leader of the Colony. Can you tell us about him?
A: Not much to tell. He founded the Colony after Abraham Lincoln died. Most of the time he’s a pretty level-headed vamp. Sometimes though, he’s a dick.
Q: A ‘dick’?
A: You’d have to know him.
Q: So, let’s go back a minute. You said the Colony was formed after the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. Did he know of the existence of vampires?
A: Yes, but he was fighting a war of equality between the humans. He couldn’t take on another species, so he kept quiet about it. After his death, our team was formed.
Q: I know this will be a delicate question to ask, but with the vampires protecting the president, how was it that JFK was assassinated?
A: That day sucked ass. Damn convertible car.
Q: I’m sure your team did everything it could to protect the President.
A: Not enough.
Q: Can vampires die? What can kill you?
A: [blink] Do you really expect me to answer that?
Q: Um, not really I guess. Now, your father, he’s a purebred vampire, right?
A: Yes.
Q: Most of the team are either purebred vampires or turned humans.
A: [silence]
Q: You’re the only half-breed in the group.
A: So?
Q: Well, does that make you a liability to the team?
A: [snarl]
Q: You do come across as very menacing. Do you want to talk about your human mother?
A: She’s dead. Same with this damn interview.

Angie J's Review:

I received this review from the author for a truthful review.

So IF you know me, you know I started reading Paranormal.  I love Paranormal and Yes Vamps are my fav paranormal to read with shifters a very close second.  I red the first book (Raymond abd Alex's story) earlier this year.  I loved it but I have to admit as much as I loved it, This book was way better!!!  Can you believe it?

So you meet Sterling in Raymond's book.  Raymond paints his son as a man-Whore.  To be honest, I didn't expect to really like Sterling based on his dad's descriptions.  Man do I feel bad because listening to Sterling tell his story.  It broke my heart.  His dad has him ALLLLLLLL wrong.  Sterling is a half-breed vampire. Noone want him...human or vampire.  He knows he is a "loser" in the worlds so he will be alone, have meaningless sex to heal himself and be lonely his whole life.  So he is on a case and he sees a smoking hot human, very clumsy human at that,  stroll past him.  He soon realizes she is a vampire but she doesn't give off any "signs" of being a vamp so *GASP* could she be a half-breed like him????  Well he finds her and she kicks his ass....*snickers*   and he is stunned to find out she is a full on female vampire!!!  WAIT!!!  How can she not give off an aura????  Well the two (along with another Colony worker) begin to work to find the kidnapped vampire children that are being help by a bat shit crazy religious chick.

Well we find out what is Kate's "deal" and man was i loving how her "handicapped" qualities worked so well with Sterling's abilities.  My favorite scene was the two of them on the lounge chairs in the rain...sigh....such love.

This series is a quick and awesome read.  I love how the books just flow and I cant put them down and cant wait to pick them back up when I am reading.  My suggestion is to buy the novel IF you like paranormals because I abso love the series.

I’d like to give away a free ebook of my second novel, United Service. The book won’t be released until September 2013, but the lucky winner can receive their copy for free once it is released. For raffle entries, please use

Vampires. Is there no greater (or sexier) hero out there? Shape-shifters do catch my eye, but for me, vampires are the sexiest heroes in paranormal romances. I’ve always preferred the lighthearted romances compared with the darker stories. Put a misunderstood, lonely vampire in a novel that doesn’t want romance, or doesn’t know he wants it, and introduce a love interest that steams up the page? Yep. That’s a good story!

There are so many vampire novels out there to read. For me, what makes each one unique is their individual worlds. Some authors have their vampires unable to be in sunlight, some authors have their vampires dead all day, while others, like me, prefer vampires around 24/7.  It really is up to the author what vampire lore they want to keep for their stories. Plus, some authors throw in a twist to make their vampires even more unique. The vampires in my Colony series novels can alter their age based upon the blood they drink. A lot of blood daily, they're young. Wean off of the blood, they can be old. This comes in handy when you live multiple lives as federal agents protecting the presidents of the United States over the last 150 years.

My novel Eternal Service is the first book in the Colony Series. This story follows the coven master, Raymond, who is a lonely individual with great responsibility. He has noble beliefs, but falls short. He’s a flawed character, and who doesn’t love that? His only friend is the token human of the group who is the human liaison between the team and the President. This human is retiring, thus the story introduces the love interest, Alexandra Brennan, who is the man’s replacement.  Raymond secludes himself from interacting with humans, especially female humans, but he is drawn to Alexandra. Will his heart or is mission be compromised? Alexandra has a past that haunts her and she’s un-trusting of men. Will she follow her heart or her career? Together, can they save the President?

Book #2 of the Colony Series, United Service, will be available September of 2013. It is the story of Raymond’s half-breed son Sterling. Sterling is a modern-day vampire who clashes with his father’s antiquated ideals. Being the half-breed of the group, Sterling knows he’s the team’s weakest link and he hates it. Sterling jumps at an opportunity to do some field work rescuing kidnapped vampire children and is accompanied by a nanny of one of the kidnapped children. The nanny, Kate, is a purebred vampire. Can Sterling put behind his bad-boy ways and woo the lovely Kate? Will Kate accept the advances of a half-breed? Can they save the children from a religious cult who wants to kill them?

Book #3 of the Colony Series, Enduring Service, will be available in 2014. Sulie (Raymond’s sister) has been in love with the same human man for nearly thirty years, but refuses to allow herself the joy of true love because her love is unrequited by her human boss, Dixon. As Dixon’s retirement looms near, and his memory of Sulie and the last thirty years of his life is about to be erased, does she confront her fear of intimacy and take a leap of faith before it's too late? Dixon has decided that it’s time to retire and enjoy what time he has left. When Sulie is kidnapped during a medical emergency, Dixon realizes that retirement means giving up everything, and everyone, he’s known for the last three decades. Will he risk his life, and his heart, to save her?
Book #4 of the Colony Series, Reliant Service, will be available in 2014. After retiring his first, and only, alias with the Colony, Daniel Brighton discovers the mandatory sabbatical to be less than exciting. He chooses to do a favor and act as a security guard for a fading pop-singer, Lori Austin, whose career is winding down. He travels across Europe with her and discovers her past to be one of deception and intrigue with a past leading directly back to the Colony itself. Lori Austin is struggling to keep her career alive, and is willing to do what is necessary to save it. From bad press and scandalous stories, she travels across Europe on a relief tour to revitalize her career. Discovering a hidden family secret, she realizes that the one man who can save her is the handsome security guard she fought so hard not to hire.
I’ve read many vampire romance novels and have discovered five critical elements that exist in the books that I love and read over and over again. When I began writing my novels I made sure that all of these elements made it into my books. First, I made my vampires not want for money. Who wants to read a story of a broke vampire who lives on the streets? I’d rather have them in a stately mansion that is exquisitely furnished. Secondly, the vampires are not loners. I wanted my vampires to work together in a group and have a close bond to one another. Third, I didn’t want blood to be an issue where they spend half the novel hunting humans. The Colony receives bagged blood from Uncle Sam. Fourth, I like when the vampires have a common enemy or goal. Lastly, I enjoy stories where there is some sort of ruling body governing the vampires. In my Colony series the Vampire Council arranges marriages, blood deliveries and much more for the vampires.
