The Dom of My Dreams: A BDSM Novel by M.F. Sinclair

Book Blurb

Marjorie Fordham is just itching to sign up the hottest author in the world into her quaint little publishing house. Well, she’s also itching for other things, to be honest. So what if she finds the author attractive? And so what if he makes an offer she cannot refuse? So what if she accepts? And so what if David J. Seton is everything she has ever wanted in a man? He is a Dominant male with some ulterior motives up his sleeve, something that both terrifies and excites our feisty, independent, love-is-for-needy-chicks-and-not-for-me heroine. She has entered a world of Domination and submission, one she cannot free herself from, no matter how hard she tries to fight it.

Jo-Anna's Review

So...this book...wow. As I was finishing, I kept thinking to myself that I had to write a review but I didn't know what to write so I'm just gonna be honest and say how I feel. Ok. This book, I absolutely freakin loved it!! Now mind you, there were some parts that made me gasp or shake my head or cringe or yell at the characters but by the ending, you understand why things were done the way they were done. The interaction between characters is intense. All in all, if you love BDSM stories, you should love this one, if not, that is your opinion but I really liked it. I couldn't put it down!

Shadows (prequel) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Book Blurb:

The last thing Dawson Black expected was Bethany Williams. As a Luxen, an alien life form on Earth, human girls are…well, fun. But since the Luxen have to keep their true identities a secret, falling for one would be insane. Dangerous. Tempting. Undeniable.

Bethany can’t deny the immediate connection between her and Dawson. And even though boys aren’t a complication she wants, she can’t stay away from him. Still, whenever they lock eyes, she’s drawn in. Captivated. Lured. Loved.

Dawson is keeping a secret that will change her existence…and put her life in jeopardy. But even he can’t stop risking everything for one human girl. Or from a fate that is as unavoidable as love itself.

Jo-Anna's Review:

Have you ever read a book that has you hooked from start to finish? Also, have you ever finished a book and just sat there cause you were shocked at the ending? You're all like, "WHAT???? How could that have happened???? Where's the rest of the book????? How can it just end like that????" <---insert hyperventilating here. WELL, that is how I felt today when I finished this book!! Oh. My. Gosh. This book sucked me in as soon as I finished the prologue. When I was done reading the book today at work, I had to hold it together so I wouldn't cry. I was so upset and heartbroken that the book ended the way it did but I LOVED THE BOOK!!!! Oh my gosh!!! Best YA Alien-ish book ever!!!!!!!! Please don't let my freak out deter you away from this book. Read it!!! And then tell me how YOU felt at the end of it. It was amazing!!! Now on to the next one!!

The Keeper of the Key by Debra Smith

The Keeper of the Key

Book Blurb:
Kate, an everyday book store owner, is thrown into a world of danger after receiving a letter from her deceased husband. She follows the clues into the arms of Xander, a tough guy she can’t stop herself from responding to. Her body ignites from a single glance, and she is unable to control her passions. Despite her love they are doomed to fail, because a human can never survive a vampire's hunger.

Xander admires the fiery temper of the seductive human he’s determined to help follow the dangerous trail her dead husband sent her on, ending in the mythical land of Shangri La. In an effort to save her, Xander bonds them together, sentencing her to death unless he can undo the blood tie. Though he craves her touch, he's forced to push her away while they battle their way to the chaos at the heart of Shangri La. Can he protect her from her family’s secrets and find a way to be together, or will their love be lost in the pits of a crumbling castle.

Angie J's Review:

I was given this book by the author for a honest and true review of the book.

I am a huge Paranormal person sooo of course I was excited to get this book. I liked the idea that Kate's dead husband sends her on a mission that will change her life forever. He sends her into the arms of Vampire and major hottie Xander. Xander is your typical alpha male who is totally consumed with Kate and doesn't understand why. Due to a little argument, the two of them become bonded and he begins brooding. Can he get past his own stupid fear and can he just love Kate????

I enjoyed this story. I wish it might have been longer because I did like the way the story was paced and written. My only issue is that because the story was short, I felt that it was a bit jumpy in spots. I would have loved it to be longer for some of the scenes to flow better. however, that didn't take away fro the story at ALL!! The story was left with a sequel inevitable and I will defo be reading because I loved Crystal and Devon's impending relationship plus seeing more of Xander and Kate as they figure things out with her new "situation".....curious now aren't you!!??

Healing Hearts by Liz Crowe

Healing Hearts

Book Blurb:
Jay Longmire had it all--a successful business, a beautiful wife, two loving children. But one normal Sunday evening in Ann Arbor everything was ripped from his arms at knifepoint. He has retreated to Traverse City to hide from the world, nursing his physical and emotional wounds and trying to cope with mind-numbing guilt over his inability to protect his family.

Abby Powers serves him coffee he never drinks and has become obsessed with the movie-star handsome but melancholy man. And the anticipation of his appearance every day takes her mind off her own messy life.

What begins as a near desperate physical connection out of the blue develops into a friendship that has the potential to heal two damaged hearts. But Jay is terrified to love again. While Abby's fierce independence forces them both to acknowledge the deeper relationship they both desire, but that remains just out of reach

Angie J's Review:

I received this book from the author for an fair and honest ARC review.

Ok If you have not read a Liz Crowe book then you have no idea what you are missing. I was over joyed to get the chance once again to read a novel for her.

I knew going into the reading I would cry or be sad beyond words and yes I did feel that way. Liz's books have the ability to make you feel like you, the reader, are the character. The trauma Jay goes through is heart wrenching. I had tears and remember thinking "how can a man live through what he survived?" When you meet Abby and discover all the drama she is dealing with thanks to a POS ex husband and an alcoholic mother, you think "Give the girl a break already!!" The fact these 2 people find each other and can heal each other is amazing.

This book is a quick read but let me tell you....you will remember it!! There are times I will finish a book and within a day can't remember the main characters name!! The story was good but not memorable. Trust Me! You will remember every detail that Jay tells you about what he has survived. I know when I finished this book and just sat. I just thought about what I read and how I was feeling. This is why I love Liz Crowe books. They are EPIC!!! They are very hot and engaging but AMAZING!!!! I tell people they will never go wrong with a story of hers. And this book is yet another testimony to her skill as an author/writer. I hope that you will give the book a try because it is well worth it.

Safe Heart by Kenra Daniels

Safe Heart (Blood Dragon, #1)

Book Blurb:

After her recovery, Kiellen agrees to help Jaden track down the humans responsible and exact revenge on them. The problem is, Jaden feels Kiellen is the missing ingredient for her complete recovery – even if he is a weredragon, and off limits. After all, who can resist a guy so hot the ground he walks upon steams.

Kiellen believes Jaden has mistaken gratitude for attraction, and despite his overpowering need, he rejects her attempts at seduction. As they face violence and betrayal, and Jaden's quest for revenge becomes one for justice, Kiellen's resistance evolves into acceptance and love. But a relationship between them could endanger the fragile truce between weredragons and vampires, and could mean the death sentence for them both

Angie J's review:

OMG seriously where do I even start?  I started this book Friday morning and finished it Saturday night in between work and children!! It was amazing.  I cant even begin to tell you what I didn't like because honestly there wasn't anything.  I loved the intense sexual chemistry and cheered when they finally, well YOU KNOW.

Ok I am a huge BDB fan and all I could think of when Kiellen was being talked about was Rhage. So naturally Jaden became a kick ass version of Mary for me. (If you don't know what i am referring to then ...sigh....I am sorry but you are missing a great love story there between them BUT back to Kenra's book).   I also loved the politics this book presented.  The fact there is a Council there to protect the different species of Paranormal persons. I enjoyed the friendships each character brought to the story even if they were back stabbing bitches....sorry but we all know we have friends like that in our life.  I liked the respect that Jaden and Kiellen gave to each other most of all .  He respected what she had been through and she respected his ideas and concerns.  I  was glad that the 'trama" Jaden received at the hands of the Mortification people was skimmed over. To me, my imagination made it much worse that any writing could have made it.

Ok so why did I like this book?  It was literally on the edge of your seat suspense and then hot ass sexual chemistry filled with alot of laughing...like the scene where he drops her because his jeans are still around his ankles and he is carrying her to the bed.  The the inn keepers bust in thinking something is wrong..........soooo damn funny.  So I would definitely give this book a thumbs up.  I cant wait for book 2 and already was harassing the author about it!!  This could definitely become a favorite series of mine without a doubt.

Below is the link for this book and another of Kenra's books you can pick up for less then a buck off Amazon.  We hope you do read these books because Kenra is a great paranormal novelist.  She also writes with Azure Boone on the Archangels Creed novels.  They are a favorite new series for me as well.  We have a review of the first book Kassern up as well if you are interested!!  Thanks!!

About the author:

A writer since early childhood, Kenra only turned to writing fiction for publication as a serious goal in the past couple of years. Currently, she writes Paranormal Romance and Contemporary Erotic Romance, but has plans for Historical Romance and possibly Young Adult Paranormal. If time and energy allow, there's a Western and a Suspense novel on the back burner, too.

Kenra lives in a TINY little town in rural north eastern Kentucky (one stop light TINY) with her very own Romance Novel Hero/Husband of 26 years. They have one adult daughter, and are raising their 3 grandsons (1, 3, & 4yrs).

When Kenra isn't busy with the boys or writing, she enjoys reading, cooking, sewing, crafts, gardening, hiking, camping, and horses. She is interested in a broad array of subjects, but not celebrities or sports

Cody's Promise by Dawne Prochillo

Cody's PromiseBook Blurb:
Willow Creek, Colorado, 1898

The oldest Butler sibling, Cody, has his eye on newcomer, and saloon gal, Lydia Parsons. She is an innocent duped into a world of an unpleasant profession and he knows he needs to rescue her. He vows to help her escape her current life.

Stealing her away from the life as a saloon girl and giving her the future she deserves, Cody is shocked with her revelation. She is harboring a secret; one that will make for a ready made family.

Lydia never meant to decieve Cody, but what choice did she have? She never meant to end up in this predicament and would do anything to be Cody's wife and to find Charlie, the other male in her life.

Can Cody keep his promise to Lydia? Even after discovering her 'secret'.

Angie E's Review:
This book was a ARC read. Twinsie Talk was honored to be asked to review this book. This book grabbed me emotionally from the start. I had such a heavy heart for Lydia. The mystery behind Charlie had me so intrigued I couldn’t quit reading. Cody’s is a true GENTLEMAN. I loved his drive to protect and do right by Lydia considering her occupation. He tugged at my heart with his charm and sincere personality. This was a short story. A great read if your in between BIG books. I read it in one sitting (really didn't want to put it down). I was a bit bothered by the abrupt ending, I was reading and then it was like THE END, it left me wondering WAIT did I miss something?  I was thankful to find out that this is a SERIES so hopefully I will see more from the Butler family.

It Happened One Autumn (Book 2 The Wallflowers) by Lisa Kleypas

It Happened One Autumn (Wallflowers, #2)

Book Blurb:
Four young ladies enter London society with one necessary goal: they must use their feminine wit and wiles to find a husband. So they band together, and a daring husband-hunting scheme is born.

It happened at the ball...

Where beautiful but bold Lillian Bowman quickly learned that her independent American ways weren't entirely "the thing." And the most disapproving of all was insufferable, snobbish, and impossible Marcus, Lord Westcliff, London's most eligible aristocrat.

It happened in the garden...

When Marcus shockingly—and dangerously—swept her into his arms. Lillian was overcome with a consuming passion for a man she didn't even like. Time stood still; it was as if no one else existed...thank goodness they weren't caught very nearly in the act!

It happened one autumn...

Marcus was a man in charge of his own emotions, a bedrock of stability. But with Lillian, every touch was exquisite torture, every kiss an enticement for more. Yet how could he consider taking a woman so blatantly unsuitable...as his bride?

Angie J's review:

Ok so I was introduced to this series by a friend and thought "Eh historical fiction??  ME??  Prolly not but Ok for Susan I will read them."  Wow was I wrong.  I loved these books.  This is my favorite book in the series which is why I am reviewing it.  Westcliff and Lillian kept me laughing at their HATE for each other all the while the readers knowing it was their PASSION.   I loved how high handed Westcliff was about Lillian.  She was sooo not going to have it at all.  The author definitely lets you know what life for a woman was either of stature or not.  It gives you a peek into what was seen as inappropriate and lets you know how people of the time got around some of the rules. I loved the plotting that the women of the series do to ensure each is married off and not left to be a spinster.

I have never read a historical fiction before now and I have to say I am looking forward to reading The Hathaways which is the series spin off from The Wallflowers.  Each of the books in this series is very well written.  I enjoyed getting to know each of the couples and what they had to do to finally admit their feelings for each other.

Jo's Review:

So it's 1124pm and I just finished Time Untime by Sherrilyn Kenyon which is the 17th book to her Dark Hunter, Were Hunter and Dream Hunter series. My friend bought it for me for my birthday so I'm glad I finally finished it. It was amazing!! Probably my second favorite book in the series!! I loved that you saw other characters besides Ren and Kateri. Oh and Acheron and Nick?? Swoooooon!! Lol! Anyways. So I don't know what to say other then that it's a must read! I'm still learning how to write a review if you haven't noticed. I loved the action in the book and the love story. I loved that Ren wasn't perfect (speech impediment). I had to force myself to read the book slowly. It was hard to do at times. But definitely read it, especially if you've read the other books!!

Permanent Marker by Angel Payne

Permanent Marker (The Kinky Truth)Book Blurb:

When Mark Moore arrives in Nassau to conduct a corporate training meeting, his only expectation is a week of professional and personal enjoyment in an island paradise. Since stepping down from his senatorial duties to have more time for his pop star daughter, Dasha, he's liked having free time for projects like this--except for the moments when the memories attack of a love long lost, buried six years ago.

He never expects the sweet surprise of Rose Fabian, a student who soon becomes much more. Her kisses and her passion are a balm for his tattered soul--and her submission reawakens every Dominant instinct in his body. But Rose carries emotional scars of her own, wounds that are worsened by desiring Mark: an older man with social standing and integrity that will only be ruined by her influence. Only in finally surrendering to their love can she find the courage to believe that their future will be written in permanent marker.

Note:This book contains explicit sexual situations, graphic language, and material that some readers may find objectionable: BDSM theme and elements

Angie E's Review:

This book is full of lust, love, need and internal conflict. I am a HUGE Titanic fan. I immediately saw the titanic influence in the book and then to find the author later confirm it was like OMG I KNEW IT !!! Lol…. Yeah I like when I’m right.. Who doesn’t.? I’m also a HUGE GWTW fan so to see a Rhett and Scarlett reference also EXCITED me. I love that the author went outside the AGE rules and gave an age difference to the characters. Mark is not looking for love neither is Rose so when they find each other it’s LUST AT FIRST SIGHT ! Rose can’t control herself when she’s with Senator Sir (Mark). Mark can’t seem to control himself either. When they finally hook up it’s EXPLOSIVE AND MIND BLOWING. Honestly I read a couple of the sex scenes more than once because well they are just THAT HOT. I love when I get so into a book that I block EVERYTHING out. I was that into this story. I started it and when I ended it I was like WHAT I JUST STARTED….. Didn’t realize that I read the entire book in like 2 sittings. This is the second book in this series and CAN NOT WAIT to read the next installment… GREAT JOB ANGEL!!!!

The #1 New York Times bestselling author Kelley Armstrong delivers the novel her fans have been clamoring for: Thirteen, the epic finale of the Otherworld series.
It’s been more than ten years, a dozen installments, and hundreds of thousands of copies since Kelley Armstrong introduced readers to the all-too-real denizens of the Otherworld: witches, werewolves, necromancers, vampires, and half-demons, among others. And it’s all been leading to Thirteen, the final installment, the novel that brings all of these stories to a stunning conclusion.

A war is brewing—the first battle has been waged and Savannah Levine is left standing, albeit battered and bruised. She has rescued her half brother from supernatural medical testing, but he’s fighting to stay alive. The Supernatural Liberation Movement took him hostage, and they have a maniacal plan to expose the supernatural world to the unknowing.

Savannah has called upon her inner energy to summon spells with frightening strength, a strength she never knew she had, as she fights to keep her world from shattering. But it’s more than a matter of supernaturals against one another—both heaven and hell have entered the war; hellhounds, genetically modified werewolves, and all forces of good and evil have joined the fray.

Uniting Savannah with Adam, Paige, Lucas, Jaime, Hope, and other lost-but-notforgotten characters in one epic battle, Thirteen is a grand, crowd-pleasing closer for Armstrong’s legions of fans.

Jo's Review:
I just finished 13 by Kelley Armstrong. This is the last book to the series and I loved how it ended but I am still sad that it's over. I am looking forward to reading other books by Kelley and can't wait to see what else she has for us in the upcoming years. I also love how this book starts with a werewolf story and ends with a werewolf story. The werewolves are my favorite of the series so I'm glad she did that. Anyone who loves this series, definitely read this book!

Jo-Anna's Review

So over the years I have read A LOT of romance books and I've pretty much enjoyed them all. Most of them are the same type of story. Girl meets boy, girl falls in love with boy, boy does something stupid, girl takes forever to forgive him, boy does something amazing to make girl forgive him, boy and girl live happily ever after. Well...this book...oh my gosh. Where do I begin?? I think I have to say that this book is the BEST contemporary romance novel I have ever read! It's a re-read type book. So much stuff happens and it's not in the usual order that a typical romance novel has. When I was reading this book, I'd be reading a long and everything is happy and then all of a sudden..BAM..something crazy happens and I was like, WHAT!! I can't believe that just happened!! This story made me laugh, made me cry, made me yell..it made me feel all of these different emotions..it was just...wow. You have to read this book! I can't even put into words everything I feel for this story. I love the characters. I love the way the story is written. It's just amazing!!
